Songs of ascent

From time to time my pen gets cranky for some more creative exercise. The poems, songs, and musings here are some of the results.

Why "songs of ascent"? Well, that is the name by which fifteen of the Psalms (120 to 134) are known. These songs are believed to have been sung by the Jewish pilgrims on their way up to Jerusalem.

In the same way i find myself also on pilgrimage through life, looking forward to the new Jerusalem. The journey is not always easy or pleasant, but, as G.K. Chesterton said, "one sees great things from the valley, only small things from the peak."
