A hundred million demigods
To which one do we turn?
We hedge our bets, select the odds
Failing to discern
Always willing to play our cards
But it's the truth we spurn

Voices saying, "Follow me!" --
Blind leaders of the blind
Always saying, "Come and see;
Come and you will find
Answers that will set you free!
Come and free your mind."

Petty rules and laws of man
Are crowding out the rest
Though we're trying all we can
Still we fail the test
We search for an elusive plan
Accepting second-best

And though you search, the answer's plain:
Jesus died to heal your pain
And He accepts you as His own
You need never be alone
Accept His truth and you will be
