The grey pinstripe walks down the hall
He's been in his office since the day before
i don't envy him, i don't want to be him
But i guess he's got to pay for his Mercedes Benz
Uh huh

His cellphone rings and his secretary calls
He's late for a meeting; double-booked at four
i don't envy him, i don't want to be him
But the bills keep coming for the money he spends
Uh huh

He's wasting his life toiling night and day
He's chasing pipe dreams but they're fading away
i don't envy him, i don't want to be him
His wife's run out; he's trying to make amends
Uh huh

Now if he'd just sit still and open his eyes
He'd realise they've sold him on a pack of lies
i don't envy him, i don't want to be him
When will he realise that's hot how it ends?
Uh huh

If he'd change his heart, turn his back on his sin
Accept God's plan and invite Him in
There's more to his life,
He'd find more to this life
So much more to this life than he comprehends
Oh yeah
